About Ceking Rice Terrace Ubud

Ceking Rice Terrace, also known as Tegalalang Rice Terrace, is an expanse of green rice fields located in the northern part of Ubud Village. It is said that the rice terrace has existed since the 9th century and has been well-preserved until now by local farmers—the history is present through the traditional subak irrigation system you can find there.
The traditional system is designed to help local farmers distribute water by creating an elevation, which helps water from the upper part to the lower part of the rice field. This also explains the unique formation of Ceking Rice Terrace, creating an uneven land contour that is pleasing to the eye.
To get to Ubud Ceking Rice Terrace, you can simply follow the routes from Ubud to Kintamani. It is located approximately 10 km from Ubud’s city center, which is a 20-minute drive away.
Once there, we recommend that you take a moment to trek through the path and bask in the surrounding nature. Along the path, you’ll find various stunning photo spots and get to observe local farmers working the ground.
If you’re more of the adventurous type, you can also partake in some adrenaline-pumping activities such as zipline, sky bike, and ATV tour. The best part is, you’ll still get to enjoy the cool breeze and pretty landscape during all these activities—providing a nice balance between challenge and relaxation.
