It has become a highly visited destination thanks to the fresh air and beautiful scenery. Puncak provides a short getaway from the city’s bustling streets, away from the noise and polluted air.
5 Top Tourist Spots and Attractions in Puncak
There are various activities you can partake in at Puncak. Be it simply sight-seeing or interacting with wild animals, you’ll never run out of things to do.
To make the most out of your trip, here is a complete guide on what to do in Puncak—visit the best tourist spots and enjoy their culinary excellence all at once.
1. Telaga Warna
The name Telaga Warna literally translates to ‘Colorful Lake’. It got its name from the ever-changing color of the lake, said to have seven colors in total.
Experts think it is caused by the reflection from the surrounding floral life. However, tempting as the water may be, you’re forbidden to swim in the lake.
Not only is the lake surrounded by a diverse floral life, but it’s also home to various fauna: from the many bird species to a unique monkey species known as Lutung, known for its black color.
Aside from enjoying the splendid view, you can also partake in tourist attractions like flying fox, water bicycle, and other fun activities.
You can reach the lake from Bogor or Cianjur, each trip taking around an hour. Each visitor needs to pay an admission fee of Rp7,500 and can only access the premises at 08.00-17.00 local time.

Cibodas Botanical Garden was built in 1852 by Dutch botanist Johannes Elias Tejisman on the slopes of Mount Gede—yet another garden you shouldn’t miss.
Since it’s located in a high-altitude area, you can see various subtropical plants you won’t expect to see in a tropical country like Indonesia, the most unique ones being the cherry blossom trees (yes, ones you usually see in Japan).
Be sure to explore the whole garden area, from the small pond to the waterfall. Everything in the garden is a sight for sore eyes and makes a great backdrop for your pictures.
The place is open between 08.00 – 18.00 local time. The admission fee ranges from Rp22.500 – Rp32.500.
4. Curug Kembar
Curug Kembar literally translates to ‘Twin Waterfall’.
The towering twins fall from a height of 15 meters into a large natural pool you can swim in. The fresh water feels refreshing and is guaranteed to wash away the stress of your daily life.
You can visit the waterfall any day during 08.00 – 17.00 local time. And you only have to pay an admission fee of Rp20.000 to enjoy the cool water.
5. Safari Park Indonesia
Looking for a fun trip around 2,500 animals? Then Safari Park Indonesia is a destination you should never miss!
The 170 hectares of land is the home to many native Indonesian animals, such as Bengal tigers, giraffes, orangutan, hippos, komodo, and others.
You can even witness their way-of-life directly, as the park has a drive-through system that allows you to drive past these animals.
Aside from that, you can also partake in many fun activities, such as outbound activities, watching various live shows, or simply enjoying the many rides in the park.
