Monumen Patung Slamet Riyadi is one of the landmarks in Solo. Inaugurated in 2007, this 7 meter high monument was built as a form of dedication to national figure Brigadier General TNI Slamet Riyadi.

You should visit Jalan Slamet Riyadi on Sundays during Car Free Day to avoid being impeded by passing vehicles if you want to see and photograph this monument up close.

3. Loji Gandrung

Loji Gandrung is an Indic-style official residence belonging to the mayor of Solo City. This location's more than 100-year-old Gatot Subroto statue in the front yard is one of its distinguishing features.

4. Radya Pustaka Museum

Another interesting museum that you can visit in the Slamet Riyadi area is the Radya Pustaka Museum. Founded in 1890, this museum has been named the oldest museum in Indonesia.

You can find a variety of historical collections here, including statues, books, and wayang—traditional musical instruments. The Radya Pustaka Museum displays at least a collection of more than 400 handwritten Old Javanese books.

Previously, this museum with Javanese-Colonial architecture was the residence of a Dutch citizen named Johannes Busselaar.

5. Kampung Batik Kauman

It is not surprising that Solo has a variety of batik tourist destinations, given that the city is known as Kota Batik. In addition to the Danar Hadi Museum, Kampung Batik Kauman is another excellent destination for Batik lovers.

Klewer Market is often a mainstay destination for tourists who are looking for various types of textile fabrics.

It's expected that this market will eventually become Central Java's biggest textile market. There are at least more than 1,500 textile sellers that you can find at Klewer Market.

As with markets in general, you can bargain to get textiles at the best price. Apart from that, you can also hunt for various delicious Solo culinary delights around the Pasar Klewer area.
